Dispose of an asset with a sanitization trail

When retiring equipment, record how its data was erased. Disposal marks the asset as Desativado (Decommissioned) and writes a sanitization trail to the history — the evidence audits ask for.

Disposal has no undo button

Disposing marks the asset as Desativado (Decommissioned) and writes a permanent record to the history. There is no restore action in the interface — only manually editing the status. Confirm you have the right asset before proceeding.

Record the disposal

    Open the asset in `Items` and click `Descartar` (Dispose).

    The "Descartar ativo" (Dispose of asset) dialog opens and warns: the asset will be marked as decommissioned and a disposal record with the sanitization trail will be written to the history.

    Select the `Método de sanitização` (Sanitization method).

    Choose how the data was erased — the list of methods is in the table below. If you choose "Não realizada (exceção)" (not performed — exception), the dialog shows a risk warning: record in the notes why the data wasn't erased.

    Fill in the evidence.

    Data da sanitização (Sanitization date — defaults to today), Verificado por (Verified by — a user or a vendor), Referência do certificado (Certificate reference — an ID, a URL, or the destruction document number), and the notes — for example, "drives shredded on site; witnessed".

    Click `Descartar ativo` (Dispose of asset).

    Toast "Ativo descartado com sucesso" (Asset disposed successfully). The status becomes Desativado (Decommissioned) and the History tab gains a "Descartado" (Disposed) entry with the "Trilha de sanitização" (Sanitization trail) card.

Sanitization methods

The trail lives in the asset's Histórico (History) tab, under the "Descartado" (Disposed) entry: the method, the certificate (it becomes a link if it's a URL), who verified, the date, and the notes. That's where an auditor finds the evidence later.
