Link a device to an asset

Linking ties the real machine the agent reports to the inventory record, always 1:1. Once linked, the asset shows the "Dispositivo ao vivo (Movitera Link)" (Live device) panel — online/offline, specs, and last signal — and the device gains an accounting trail.

Before you start

Linking, registering, and unlinking are Gerenciador (Manager) actions — see Who can do what. The Devices page shows a banner with how many devices are still unlinked; use Revisar e vincular (Review and link) or the Precisa vincular (Needs linking) filter to work through the queue.

Register an asset from the device

Take this path when the machine has no inventory record yet — the form comes pre-filled with the data the agent reports.

    On the device's row, open `Vincular` (Link) and choose `Registrar a partir do dispositivo` (Register from the device).

    On the device detail, the equivalent button is Registrar ativo a partir do dispositivo (Register asset from the device).

    Review the pre-filled data.

    The tag comes as "Automática (a partir do hostname)" (automatic, from the hostname) — use Personalizar etiqueta (Customize tag) if the team follows another pattern. The serial, brand, model, and OS come from the agent; the status starts as Em uso (In use) if the device has an owner, otherwise Em estoque (In stock).

    Choose the category.

    The Criar categoria “Endpoints” (Create the “Endpoints” category) option creates the category automatically if it doesn't exist yet; or select an existing one, suggested based on the device. The category's custom fields are pre-filled with the collected data.

    Click `Registrar e vincular` (Register and link).

    Toast "Ativo registrado e vinculado." (Asset registered and linked). The new asset is born linked to the device.

Registering creates a billable tracked asset

The dialog itself warns: "Isso cria um registro de ativo rastreado (faturável) pré-preenchido com os dados deste dispositivo." (this creates a billable tracked asset record pre-filled with this device's data). The asset counts toward the billable devices metric in the team's billing. If the tag already exists, the product answers "Essa etiqueta já está em uso. Escolha outra." (that tag is already in use — choose another).

Link an existing asset

    On the device's row, open `Vincular` (Link) and choose `Vincular ativo existente…` (Link existing asset).

    The search comes seeded with the device's serial and hostname. Search by tag, serial number, brand, model, or OS.

    Select the asset and click `Vincular ativo` (Link asset).

    Assets already linked to another device appear disabled, marked "já vinculado" (already linked) — the link is always 1:1.

Confirm a suggested match

When a device's serial number exactly matches an asset's, the product suggests the link — in the list, the Correspondência (Match) badge; on the device detail, the "Possível correspondência de ativo" (Possible asset match) card, comparing the live device with the candidate asset. The suggestion never links on its own: confirm with Confirmar vínculo (Confirm link) or dismiss with Dispensar (Dismiss).

Unlink

Click Desvincular (Unlink) — in the asset's "Dispositivo ao vivo (Movitera Link)" (Live device) panel or in the device's "Ativo vinculado" (Linked asset) panel. Toast "Vínculo removido." (Link removed). The asset and the device both keep existing; only the tie between them is undone.
