Manage licenses, seats, and compliance

Record the licenses the team has bought, assign seats to assets and people, and compare what you bought with what's installed on the devices. Licenses are their own records — separate from assets — with a type, a status, validity, and seats.

Record a license

    Open `Licenses` in the Inventory sidebar and click `Adicionar licença` (Add license).

    The "Adicionar licença de software" (Add software license) dialog opens. The page subtitle sums up the picture: how many licenses and how many seats are in use.

    Fill in the `Nome do software` (Software name) and what you know.

    The license type (Perpétua (Perpetual), Assinatura (Subscription), OEM, Volume, Freeware), the status (Ativa (Active), Expirada (Expired), Revogada (Revoked), Pendente (Pending)), the publisher, the version, the Chave da licença (License key), the Total de assentos (Total seats), the validity, the renewal date, and the cost.

    Click `Criar licença` (Create license).

Assign seats to assets and people

On the license detail, use Atribuir a item (Assign to asset) to tie the license to equipment and Atribuir a usuário (Assign to user) to tie it to a person — each assignment consumes a seat. The "Uso de assentos" (Seat usage) bar shows the consumption: it turns amber from 80% and red past the total; with no total set, it shows "em uso (ilimitado)" (in use, unlimited). An asset's licenses also appear in the asset's own Software tab.

Seat assignments can't be undone from the interface

Today there's no way to remove a seat assignment, or to edit or delete a license from the interface. Confirm the recipient before assigning. If the seats overflow, record another Ativa (Active) license for the same software with the additional seats — compliance adds up all active licenses.

Track seat compliance

In Software risk, the Conformidade (Compliance) tab crosses the recorded licenses with the installations detected on the devices and classifies each software title: Em conformidade (Compliant), Acima do contratado (Over-deployed), Subutilizado (Underused), Sem instalações (No installs), or Sem contagem de licenças (No license count). A banner lists commercial software installed with no recorded license — the Registrar licença (Record license) button opens the dialog pre-filled. Only licenses with Ativa (Active) status count toward the seats.

The Relatório de licenças (License report) tab, next to it, ranks the installed titles by how likely they are to require a license — with each one's model (Commercial, Subscription, Open source, "Grátis só para uso pessoal" — free for personal use only) and the "Custa dinheiro?" (Does it cost money?) column. Both reports depend on installed-app collection, which is opt-in — see Configure Movitera Link collection.
