Access a device remotely

View or control a team device's screen straight from the browser — with approval from whoever is at the machine. Useful for support without installing another remote access tool.

Before you start

  • Remote control must be enabled for the team: Permitir controle remoto dos dispositivos (Allow remote control of devices), on the Movitera Link page. It's off by default.
  • You need Operador remoto (Remote operator) access (the Controle remoto (Link) permission) — without it, the Controle remoto (Remote control) button doesn't appear. See Who can do what.
  • The device must be online.
  • By default, whoever is at the device must approve the request — the request expires in 120 seconds.

Open the session

  1. 1

Open the device in `Devices` and click `Controle remoto` (Remote control).

The "Controle remoto" (Remote control) dialog explains that the session opens in a new tab and that the user must approve the access on their own machine.

  2. 2

    Choose the mode.

Apenas visualizar (View only) — "Acompanhe a tela do dispositivo sem interagir." (watch the device's screen without interacting). Controle total (Full control) — "Seu teclado e mouse serão enviados para o dispositivo." (your keyboard and mouse are sent to the device).

  3. 3

    Click `Solicitar acesso` (Request access).

The console opens in a new tab with "Aguardando aprovação no dispositivo" (waiting for approval on the device) and the request countdown.

  4. 4

Wait for approval on the machine.

Once approved, the screen appears with the "Ao vivo" (Live) indicator — fps and resolution — and the participant counter ("Você + N" — you + N). Switch between "Tamanho real" (Actual size) and "Preencher a janela" (Fill the window) to adjust the image.

  5. 5

Click `Encerrar` (End) when you're done.

    result
"Sessão encerrada" (Session ended) — the session also ends if the device's user ends it or it expires.

If the request doesn't go through

MessageWhat it means
"Acesso recusado" (Access denied)The user declined the request. Coordinate over the team's channel first and use Tentar novamente (Try again).
"Tempo esgotado" (Timed out)Nobody answered in 120 seconds — locked or unattended devices expire. Use Solicitar novamente (Request again).
"Controle remoto indisponível" (Remote control unavailable)The device is offline, or remote access is disabled for the team.
"Sem permissão para controle remoto" (No remote control permission)You lack Operador remoto (Remote operator) access on this team — ask an administrator.

For machines with nobody around — a server, for example — there's the Permitir sessões não assistidas (Allow unattended sessions) option in the Movitera Link settings. It's a sensitive, audited setting; keep it off unless the team's policy requires it.
